    What kind of BB will fit the 2005 Giant OCR C1 road frame?

    Just bought one brand new and am putting it together.

    very little help. Can anyone offer me some info. I have very little knowledge about the BB's out there.

    OCR Composite? I don't know if they made them in 2005... anyway, measure the external width of the BB shell; it's probably a 68mm width, english thread... the OCR was a megaexo type BB with a FSA crank, the ISIS type is similar, I think. The BB is a function of the crankset you want.

    Ordinary (all?) Giant road bikes use a standard 68mm English BB. This means almost any BB will work (make sure to get English rather than Italian).

    There is no OCR C1 in 2005, check 2006.

    Any Shimano Hollowtech II or Campy (English thread) Ultra Torque crankset will work. I'm not convinced that Truvativ or FSA are quite up with the big boys in quality yet.

    OP could read a web page, which is why he knew your post was of very little help.

    As arte pointed out, any English threaded bottom bracket will fit. However, you must get the BB cups to match the crankset you have chosen to install. As far as I know FSA and Shimano bearing cups are interchangeble, but not Truvativ, and obviously campagnolo cups can only fit Campagnolo cranksets.

    I had a Truvativ Roleur crankset where the crankbolt seemed to keep on coming loose. I prefer the Shimano method of clamping the crank arms.
