  1. anyone else? my last shot to get my legs in shape for the Alps (and no
I'm not doing the Grimpeur, Yorkshill is not what is required!, the
    Sporting is quite enough)

    Possibly. Haven't quite decided yet.

I was planning on doing the grimpeur, but have Yet Another Bloody

Go cycling, then you're assured of a well spent weekend.

Statistics suggest that about 35% of weddings turn out to be a waste of
time. (Divorce). Though it may be seen as insensitive to mention this
    on the day.

For the record: if anyone is planning on getting married on the last
weekend of August next year[1] I'll happily buy them a toaster, but if
they think I'm attending the ceremony they can think again.

1.it is the /last/ weekend of August, isn't it?

None of the rides did Yorkshill which is odd as I did it on the B and B
160; my very first Audax ride 5 years ago, Tim assured me it had never
gone that way which means I couldn't read the route sheet. Ide Hill was
a lot better but still very hard indeed.
I finished the Sporting in 11hrs.30 although it must rank as my hardest
ever 200; a fairly easy route but the HEAT ;-( Biggest problem was
carrying enough cool water; after about 30 mins it was undrinkable so I
did the sensible thing and just tipped it all over my front. £3.60 for
a pint of Coke in the otherwise excellent Belgian caff complete with
    Tintin pictures on the wall. I feel very very sorry for the Grimpeurs;
I've done all of those hills and wouldn't want to do one of them on a
200 let alone all of them.
Right; that's me done until La Marmotte. watch this space.
