Marca reports that Basso, Beloki and Mancebo will be officially announced as not riding in the next few minutes
Or rather, that ASO will hold a press conference at 12.00 at which they will ban Basso, Beloki and Mancebo from participating this year.
And I thought all those years of Spanish at school were wasted...

I wouldn't cancel your trip, just remember your bike. At this rate, you're odds on for a podium place🙂

At least I means I can ride Alp d'huez in peace... gutted as it is my first trip to the Tour and I wont get to see the top riders(dopers) 🙁
ASO have suspended Basso not CSC.

Christian Preudhomme announced that on the 2 hour meeting with all the sporting directors, they all agreed to exclude all riders connected to the Spanish case. So yes, CSC did suspend him. But unlike T-Mob, they were not shown the evidence before coming to the meeting, so its pretty hard for them to do it sooner.

STRASBOURG, France (Reuters) - Giro d'Italia winner Ivan Basso of Italy has been withdrawn from the Tour de France because of his involvement in a doping investigation in Spain.
"Ivan has been suspended," his CSC team manager Bjarne Riis told a news conference on Friday.
Earlier, T-Mobile suspended their German rider Jan Ullrich, the 1997 Tour winner, his Spanish colleague Oscar Sevilla and team manager Rudy Pevenage.
The world's greatest cycle race starts on Saturday with a 7-km prologue in Strasbourg.
"It is difficult for us to believe what is happening," said Riis, himself a surprising Tour de France winner in 1996.
"I never had any kind of indication (Basso was involved)."
The Dane said he made his decision after a meeting with other team managers this morning. The 21 team bosses had decided to ban any rider named in the investigation into the doping scandal that erupted in Spain last month.
"What we saw is that Ivan is part of the case," said Riis
"We did what we had to do in a situation like that. It's not about pressure, it's about being responsible.
"I am the one who makes the decisions especially in this kind of situations. So I made this decision on my own."
Asked how Basso reacted when informed, Riis said: "He accepted my decision. He was very sad. He wanted to do well on the Tour.
"It's a huge blow for everybody."
CSC are now in a very difficult position if they are to shine because the whole team had been built around Basso.
Riis decided earlier this month to omit Paris-Roubaix winner Fabian Cancellara from his Tour squad.
"The choice was to focus on the mountains and I had to sacrifice Fabian Cancellara for a guy who can climb," he said earlier this month.
Riis believes CSC can still do well in this year's Tour.
"I believe this team has a future. It is very important for me to make my team believe that we have to go on working," Riis said.
This is sad, sad news. On a positive note, maybe this will mean a few of the young guns will have a good chance at winning the Tour...

Of course, Riis has to say that he didn't know about it, but can anyone really believe that Basso would dope without Riis' full knowledge?
