ohhhhhhhh.. didn't realize that was actually your bike. Nice looking ride!

Still, I'd look very carefully at wheel balance for that kind of speed. It would take much to create a good shake.

    Good luck!

how do you check wheel balancing; i was hoping that mybe it would be something simple like pressing the headset a little more to tighten up the front end. i have never worked with clinchers and bladed spokes any pointers?

I've read a reference to it somewhere, but I can't remember where. I really didn't look into it carefully at the time.

I just purchased a set of Velomax Circuits, and noticed that they're slightly out of balance (spinning at high speed while holding bike off the ground, I can feel it). In looking into it, the "heavy" spot is located right at the weld in the rim...imagine that. It would seem that this at least occurs to the manufacturer as they have placed the hole for the tube stem exactly opposite of the weld. It can't be but a few grams off, but the stem would offset it some. Whether it was designed this way on purpose or not, I can't say. At the speeds I ride, I doubt seriously it would be an issue anyway. The Equipes I currently ride aren't "perfect" either, and I can't feel it on the road.

I don't even KNOW that's the problem you're experiencing, but it's one possibility. I wonder if they don't make a tool especially for this (assuming it's done on any sort of normal basis.

The guy to ask would be Boudreaux, if anyone is familiar with it to the extent to help you, he's probably the guy.

no you didn't misunderstand, thats correct it was down hill for about 1000m i was seated and spinning but it got a little scary as the bike began to shake, the speedo states 77mph to be precise i did have a very strong tailwind also, so thats a new fastest for me.

I'm looking for an explanation to why the front end began to shake, i have only experienced this once an spent a number of days nursing the effects of road rash!😕 plz someone have any explanation...

now i ain't sure, but when you grip the bars to tight on the track the front end shakes on corners, would the same happen on a straight downhill road, or would i be best to put it down to the winds that was causing it or put it down to fear factor and gripping the bars for dear life ? Ass twitch or would there be another explanation, something loose somewhere?

    77mph?

I am sorry, but unless you are going down a 25% grade for a good distance, you are not doing that kind of speed.

i think your speedometer is off, or maybe it is kph?
