  1. Does anyone have any links that talk about band training for strength?
I have one from a powerlifting site and also have one from a BB site
though the powerlifting site is more specific. I am trying to narrow
things down and work out a precise schedule to get started on them. I
am not a powerlifter at all.

    Can anyone help?

At elitefts there are links to ways to combine bands with iron to
boost your squat, bench press and deadlift numbers

There are a number of products and instruction manuals from
lifeline-usa that are helpful, such as the Portable Gym, the Power

Bands can also be purchased from

He should take a look at Strength Band Training by Page and

  4. Hey thanks for the info. I already have the bands. I bought 1-3 from
ironwoodyfitness. Got introduced to it through Joeaveragepowerlifitng
but I have no desire to do powerlifting. I have a desire to get
stronger. I want to use the rest of the year to get stronger because I
plan on starting a blitz program for mass come the first of the year. I
dont really want to be limited to powerlifting routines if I can help
    it.

Up to now I have 1 article that I took from t-mag on it but it is very
basic. Just gives a generic outline on how to use bands for
    bodybuilding.

    Good luck with band training.

What's wrong with powerlifting routines? Why do you think that's
limiting? You want to get strong? Squat, deadlift, and bench. You
want to get big and strong? Do the same exercises
but use different routines and eating strategies. You want a little
more variety? That's ok too but keep doing deads and squats.
Throw in different types of presses if, like me, you don't much care
for benching. Or do bench-like stuff with a Power Pushup 2. Some
will tell you to do one-arm pushups and other types of pushups.

  6. I am all for the powerlifting routines as far as the big 3 but not all
by themselves. I never knew much about powerlifting until I was
introduced to bands. It is quite a bit different from bodybuilding but
it is more geared towards lifting as much weight as possible for 1 rep.
While that is cool in itself, I myself want to also use that weight as a
tool to develop mass, strength and some cuts into my bodyframe

The exact workout schedule that I do have you end up doing the benches,
squats and some deadlifting along with close grips benches,
hyperextensions, dips and pull ups and that is essentially. To me it
seems too limiting but yet I am not a powerlifter anyway, I am
going to give this routine a shot and feel my way through it and see
about incorporating more bb moves into it though I cant do the 4 sets I
normally would do without doing less reps which would be fine.

Anyway, it is a new learning curve for myself, Ill see where it takes
    me........

I'm a little confused here. Competitive powerlifters train for a
1-rep max in a meet, but they only occasionally go for a 1-rep max in
training. (This is what I've read. I'm not a competitive PLer.)

I don't know how you use bands - combined with iron? alone? both?
I don't know why anyone would want to do 1-rep using bands alone.

If you want to be a bodybuilder and develop some real strength in the
process, I'd recommend Beyond Bodybuilding by Pavel Tsatsouline
(This is not a book about band training.)
