  1. I'm a big banana-lover! To me, bananas are, an organic, but healthy, drug. They're a healthy speed. After I eat one, I'm completely energized.

Am I the only cyclist that feels this way about bananas?

What kind of food do folks eat to stay motivated and energized?

p.s. I also find that beans have a similar effect!

  2. would you be insulted if folks made it a habit of riding off to the side of you?

  3. I also like bannanas!! also some trail mix.

  4. Tiramisu
    Lasagna
    Onion Rings
    Banana Cream Pie
    Mashed Potatoes
    Apple Jacks
    Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
    A nice, moist peachfish.

This list is making me hungry. Good listing of pre-ride food!

Tomorrow I think I'll cycle to our local Krispy Kreme and have a doughnut/coffee breakfast.

  6. Mmmmmm......Bananas!
Check out the food bags on the Tour etc.
They nearly always include a banana.
Many riders chuck unwanted items away immediately.
I have NEVER seen a rider throw away a banana.
Probably the best...and least expensive...of bike snacks.

  7. If you like bananas, you should be in heaven here since many of the members are.😄

  8. I like apples.

Thanks, I needed a feeling of accomplishment today. I now have a deep sense of fullfillment.

  11. Bananers and apples are good. I like a handfull of frosted mini wheats too, either strawberry or maple & brown sugar flavored.

  12. When they get old you can make them into cake!

  13. But now how many bananas can you probably eat on a whole day cycling? My personal record would be around 5 per day, so another banana lover came out of the closet. Anyone?

  14. You should check out bananasthemovie.com

But yea, a banana is a 250ish calorie shot of energy, mostly carbs, but also some fat and protein. The only thing it would take two bananas to make me feel comfortable.

  15. Beans? No, bananas are ten times better than beans. Many cyclists like bananas. They are quick and easy. You can do a lot with them and are the best source of energy. Nutritionally they have everything you need.

  16. Bananas are great if you ride for a long time. Not only they will energize you but they will also prevent spasm or cramps. Potassium is doing that actually and another natural option would be dried apricot that has even more potassium than bananas.

  17. I think bananas are a really great snack and they provide a lot of energy.

  18. I agree with you, bananas are for sure a great food to eat while of before doing exercise. Personally, I eat a lot of bananas, maybe two everyday and I can't really go without them!

  19. Bananas are awesome. I like cutting them up into thin slices and mixing it with other fruits in a big bowl. Yay for healthy food!

  20. Bananas, oats, a good yogurt always does just for me.
