Hi
First of all I would like to say a big "Hello" to everyone. I have been
reading this newsgroup for a couple of months but have not yet posted!
I have been walking up mountains for about 2 years so am still new to
it. Recently (2 days after Christmas day) I was on the summit of Moel
Siabod in Snowdonia. When we sat down for a cup of well earned tea, I
realised a balaclava would certainly add to my comfort factor!
(radio Wales advised that there was a wind chill factor of -20 on the
summits for that day).
I was wondering which would be the best type to get. Either a thicker
woolen one, or a thinner one (the type you would wear under a
motorcycle helmet). I guess I would only be wearing it for 30 mins to
one hour max. It would be especially useful on summit sit downs!
It would we worn under by beanie,
Any advice offered would be most appreciated.
Many thanks
Ady
