What is with these people who drive on the wrong side of the road?? A
local state patrolman here in Arizona, said that at night he suggests that
on interstate driving to stay in the right lane, not the passing lane. He

in this instance the driver was 18 and had passed her exam 4 weeks
ago.........One fatality and 5 serious injuries, wonder how that stacks
up in German court.

It reminds me of that horrible accident a couple of years ago in
Florida, anyone remember? A car ran into a group of people out on a
ride, just plowed right into them. THe driver was apparently diabetic
and blacked out. Some of the people had broken collarbones, etc, but
some of them were horribly injured- broken hips, two broken legs, one
guy landed on his face and broke his jaw. IN this case, though, no one
was killed or even crippled, amazingly enough. In that case also, the
car was going fast because the driver had passed out and so it didn't
stop until it hit a tree.

I have heard that german laws on drunk driving are extremely tough,
but I don't know about other accidents. Given how tough they are on
drunk driving, I am sure that an accident where someone is killed will
get more than a warning.

Sad news.

As an "accident" investigator once told me "There is no such thing as an
accident."
