  1. I've had 2 weeks off due to having a cold and being away, and I was back
on the bike this morning because I couldn't wait any longer, even though
I'm not quite better. The plan was to meet a friend at 0600 at Annerley.
I decided to go along Boundary, Beaudesert and Ipswich Rds but screwed
up and ended up on Granard Rd, which was interesting, crossing a few
lanes of traffic to get onto Ipswich Rd, and then having to merge from
the right onto an 80km/h stream of traffic composed predominantly of
trucks. Oh well, I'm always up for a challenge, although I think I'll
get it right next time. Kept my average over 30km/h for the 20km to
Mark's place, then we were going to do the river ride and then I would
head to uni, but by the time we hit the Riverside Expressway I was
pretty certain that I wasn't well enough for it. So I rode out to uni
and then doubled back for a flat white on Park Rd, where my bike was the
ugliest one parked there in amongst the Pinarellos etc - I thought the
shop owners would ask me to move on up to the coffee club! Back out to
uni and I got cut off by a woman who ran a stop sign when I was
travelling at 37km/h so I followed her into her driveway and politely
explained the road rules, but it was clear that her mind was elsewhere
and she was about to cry, so I suggested she didn't drive in that
condition, and left. So it was only 50km this morning, not bad for my
first ride in 2 weeks, and still with a cold. Yep, I look like Quadzilla
now. I'm ready to smash Lotte up some hills this Sunday 😄

  2. Bring it on, princess.

Smash me on the hills, and <self plug> I'll smash you on the single track (in between waiting patiently for you, of course).</self plug>

I'm interested to see how much you've improved this week.

P.S. I still haven't mastered the Jet Golly.

There's no challenge in smashing me on single track. Smash Kurt instead.
    😄

I don't have to smash him - he does it without any assistance. He's so going to bash me now.

I didn't think he read this? I can forward it if you like.

  6. I am sooooo not gonna worry about chasing up an mtb.

I can see that by the time I do, the TamBitch-LotteBum war will be in
full swing, and the best I can hope for is being left as a charred
casualty on the side of some singletrack somewhere...

Are you implying that you think she's ever going to come close to being as good as me? That's foolish!

Maybe there is some truth in Tam's theory that I have large, hairy testicles (although with a surname like yours, I'm sure yours would compare well).
