Hence my post. The info I came across was the first negatives other than "SHORT LEGS NEED NOT APPLY". Just seeing if the true believers agreed at all.
Thanks,
Aha! I should have suspected things have been TOO quiet of late on the Newsgroup. Careful, we Bacchettites are a small but loyal tribe. Much akin to the RANSrunners. Some of us straddle the fence between the cultures (in comfort of course). I should have suspected a short legged person would try to incite us, Randy Newman is Right! Gawd I wish it would warm up enough to ride...26 degrees today and windy Denny in Sayre, Pa Bacchetta Giro, 97 RANS Vrex, Ez-1 "Bent but not Broken" www.recumbentstuff.com
I have a few miles on the STRADA with the stock seat and with the M5. Also the AERO. I find the AERO to be a bit tooth loosening with the HED Disk/HED3 Fortezzas pumped to 145 psi... but only on some washboardish stretches here abouts. I have found that I prefer the M5 to the stock seat. I come from a V-REX and V2 background and find that the stock Bachetta's are as comfortable if not more comfortable. We seem to forget that the Bachetta's sport a 46/47" wheelbase and larger wheels, in most cases these two factors are inherently more comfortable.

Sheesh!! don't be so thin skinned. I just asked about a comment I recieved from a third party.
It would appear that the faithful do not agree.

I have a DF Mountain bike, hard tail....it rides like a model T, or covered wagon. I have a Strada and a Rans Stratus, both ride very nice, no complaints on the ride at all. Now the DF s...I own two, and both are hanging in the barn. The recumbents I use. You will ride the bike you have more comfort on. Old_Mopar Strada Rans Stratus

I think the faithful not only disagree, they are also out gathering wood for a little bonfire and you're the guest of honor. ;o)

There are a number of great Bents on the market so that leaves a lot of choices for a lot of people. I objected to the way the subject was brought up. If people find the bikes uncomfortable I have not heard about it from anyone. As I stated in my post some people might have issues with the high BB to seat height. Comfort is a relative concept. One can be comfortable on a DF time trial bike at a race! It is a matter of perspective! A Strada and a TE are good comfort bikes but have a big design difference! The Aero is an all out fast road bike and comfort will take a back seat to speed. Anyway, The rans folks designed the Strada seat. As Jude said the big wheels will soak up a lot of road shock. The Aero is faster than any DF and is more comfortable too. Is it the most comfortable 'bent? I don't know. probably not. I rode a TE for 4 years and then a GRR for two years and they are up there as the most comfortable 'bents! The Strada with that big fat cushy seat? really close to the GRR in comfort if you can handle the high BB! The Aero is way faster with the 21 lb bike and hard shell seat. Take your pick! Its nice to have the choice!
