Avatar flim clip from Brainstorm

Thanks Bill B for the very enjoyable reprise of that brief scene from the
movie "Brainstorm". The Avatar reminds me very much of the first recumbent I
ever got which was the Infinity. I have always liked the look of the Avatar
and of my Infinity over any other recumbent I have ever owned. It was the
Avatar that got me into recumbents in the first place, but not from the
movie however. It was from the book The High-Tech Bicycle by Edward P.
Stevenson (Harper and Row - 1982) in which there appears a beautiful picture
of the bike on page 154. It was love at first sight. Then I saw a picture of
the Infinity in a Bike Nashbar catalog and, as they say, the rest is
history. I never test rode it or anything. I just went ahead and bought it
and I knew I was going to like it.

Someone was just mentioning this movie and that there was a rcumbent
in it. Great clip but where is Natalie? My all time love.

This movie did seem _way_ ahead of its time. What, almost 20 years
before "The Matrix".

Hey Bill-

As the guy who put the clip online, I'm glad you found it!

Don't worry about the chain rub--I'm sure the Avatar doesn't sound
like that. Almost all sound effects in every hollywood film are
produced after the effect by the Foley artists. The sound effects are
called "foley". There is no doubt in my mind that they ran a tin can
across a hand rail or something to make that sound.

If you are an arcade video game fan you will notice that the sound
effects almost never match the game being played.

You can see the back of Natalie's head on the lower left photo on the
page with the clip on it. Go nuts.

There is a DVD available so you can see her entire mediocre
performance!

As a rider of a direct descendent of the Avatar (Longbikes Slipstream) all I
can say is that the review at the link below perfectly describes my bike -
and is exactly why I ride it. Most comfortable bike I've ever had the chance
