G'day all,
I haven't ridden for years and I'm not very fit. I am thinking of selling my Motorbike and buying an Avanti Electra to commute to work and back. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks 🙄

I bought an electra to trial about 6 months ago as I own a hire business and thought they would make a great hire vehicle. However where I am in North Queensland the important criteria is hill climbing and unfortunately the hub motor has lower torque than I require. I do however regularly use the electra in and around Townsville which is one of the flatest city's in Australia. When used on the flat ground it is a very efficient and quiet electric bike which is certainly one of the most competent currently available in Australia. We are going to sell the one we have soon as we currently have bought or been leant about 9 electric bikes and the electra is one of the few available in Australia that I will be sad to see go. If you want it to help you climb hills then I suggest you try the Aprilia enjoy but if it is for a daily commute on flat ground then the electra is probably a wise choice.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I bought the bike about 4 weeks ago now and, like you, found that it won't give you a free ride up hills, but I notice the increased pedal power needed when its switched off! I am quite happy with the bike, except for a few minor battery charging problems which should be sorted soon.
