It'd be nice if we knew what kind of package it was that was being sent. AFAIK, weight is the only
basic factor for the charge given, if the package is within reasonable size.

$30 is probably good for around 10 pounds of merchandise.

Lots of reasonably priced options (unless of course you're shipping something as large as a frame,
which is JUST a little too big for their "cheap modes"... sigh).

Hardtails, yes. I completely disassembled an Ibis Szazbo and shipped it to a chap in England air
mail for about $80.

Hardtails, yes. I completely disassembled an Ibis Szazbo and shipped it to a chap in England air
mail for about $80.

It's different to Australia (and lots of other countries). The maximum size box is too small for a
frame box, much less a bike box - unless you're willing to pay through the nose (to the tune of
around $300 US). The list of countries where the "big boxes" can be delivered is growing though -
soon I hope it includes Oz.

This wasn't in a frame box. I had the rear triangle dismounted and stuffed inside the front triangle
in a box that just barely exceeded the USPS limits for airmail overseas.

People get upset when I do that with my hard tail frames (what, they've never used glue
before???). ;-)
