  1. Handed in my notice today. A few weeks longer and then I'm out of here.

Do you know where you're going next, or are you going to "rest" for a while?

Congrats, anyway. I start my new job on the 23rd - regular money, taxes
    withheld, all the good stuff!

I'd love to do that, but a paycheck comes in handy sometimes.

No rest for the wicked, unfortunately. I'm going to try and get a couple
of week's rest in, but that time will probably be spent emigrating and
    shipping stuff.

    You're getting a proper job? ;~p

Finally! Yup, goingot work for a company that I've had 3 boats built by, which
at least means I know everyone there. I drew the owner's boat 13 years ago,
and he's still sailing it and winning, so I guess that's a good recommendation.

Oh, I don't know, it has it's perks. But then again, maybe I'm just being

Can't see the start of this thread but congrats bomba, and from your last
comment I take it you've decided to go the contractor route? Do you plan on
bing based back in blighty or going to live out of a suitcase taking work in
suitable areas Hmm a job in Whistler/Moab/Les Gets etc etc...

Will initially be working in The City, which is a bit rubbish for biking.
Maybe look at jobs in Alps / Rockies / Peru at a later date 🙂

    You should ;-) It's a kind of "anti-midlife-crisis" kinda thing. I've been
working for myself, taking all the time off I wanted (unpaid, obviously) for
basically 20 years. It is now time to realise that at the age of (ahem!)
frikkin' close to 50, it is time to have a real job with a real income, and
some kind of real plan for retirement (like savings...) How I got 4 kids
through childhood, let alone 3 of them through college, like this I will never
    know. But it worked.
So, I sold the Ferrari and the crotch-rocket, returned the jet-ski unused, and
    got a job. ;-))

Good luck! Sounds like you are a man with a plan... or at least a good idea.
Going back to Engerland? You said Emigrating but isn't that more like going home, Reindocrinated some such...
Emigration sounds like a trip to Austrailia or something... not that there is anything wrong with that :-)

Yes you have (piffling little) cities in the North, but "The City" is in
the South. It's the very centre of London, or "The Square Mile".

I don't know about a business plan involving "creaming" -- ewww!

My guess is that he's moving to Colorado (and not the Far Side), so he
    can begin real mountain biking.
