  1. From ProCycling:

Concern is growing for the well-being of Belgian maverick genius Franck
Vandenbroucke. Out of the spotlight since an encouraging Classics display
this spring, Vandenbroucke, say sources in Belgium, has scarcely touched a
bicycle since. Instead VDB has been pursuing his interest in four-wheeled
machines, and has splashed out a six-figure sum on a Lamborghini sports car.
Vandenbroucke is also rumoured to be living separately from Italian wife
    Sara.

How can they call him a "maverick genius?" He behaves like a fool.

Strange terms to apply to him. I don't think he's a fool. It does seem
that he suffers from metal illness. Sad. He had some brilliant rides.

Maybe he first practiced his driving skills in a Ford Maverick.

Maybe he should move to America, so he can be one of those 4X4 rednecks
we have to dodge with our bikes.

Alexi Grewal managed to crash himself without any (human) help.

VDB was one of those types that loves to crush Freds in a charity race, but
didn't like having the shoe on the other foot and face pros with more
    ability than himself.
