Last Thursday I visited my cardiologist and after the standard tests, shaved my chest to attach the heart measuring device thingys, blood pressure, heart rate, few questions, I got the nod.
"Well then, I think its time to take you off the beta blockers."
man, I was so relieved, I guess the effect physically will show up soon, I did a lot of riding over the weekend, all pretty easy with some pretty small higher intensity bits, apparently there is only a 24 hour effect of the beta blocking medication, he said there is no long term effect of the drug.
And I must admit, when I went to push myself especially on the sunday, even though it was hard and difficult I felt that burn in my legs, which it has been SOOOO long since I felt, you that feeling, when you have pushed yourself and then you slowly turn your legs over and you have that great feeling of the blood slowing pumping around the muscles, it almost feels like someone is massaging your muscles as you slowly ride.
Well its been a long time since I felt that and it felt great 🙂
I have noticed other things as well, my appetite is coming back to what it used to be like, I get hungry a lot more often, instead of occasionally when I was on the medication.
So now I get riding and running and eventually swimming again (sorry to mention the last 2) without anything medical limiting me.
Going to make sure I get a lot of rest, if I don't get enough rest, then I will skip a session, going to watch what I eat a little bit more and get more rest.
🙂
