  1. Do you think that herring in the cream sauce would be allowed on Atkins
induction? It is just fish, sour cream and some onions. All of which
individually are allowed. I get this herring from my deli, I don't have a
jar to refer to for the counts. Sorry.

  2. If all the ingredients in a dish are allowed on induction, then the dish is
allowed. As long as the carb count for your day doesn't go above 20g.

What I'll do is tomorrow I'm going to the grocery store, I'll look at the
count on a jar of herring and assume it is the same for the deli one. I'm
psyched to start Atkins again. I recall enjoying it, and feeling good on
it, and was happy with the results more than with any other type of weight
    management lifestyle.

Maybe a free account on fitday.com will help you gain an idea of the carb
counts. Also, many times you can do an internet search to obtain label
    info.

    Two points:

1 - Assuming the carb count for an item at a deli will be the same as
that for a product sold in a jar in a grocery store is a mistake.
There can be considerable variation in what goes into a product. For
example, one may have sugar, the other may not.

2 - The pickled herring in cream that I have seen does have some small
    amout of sugar added.

  7. Herring in cream saude with onions has a major hint of sweetness. Of course,
the reasonable thing would be to ask the deli and not posters.

Absolutely. However, one can get an idea of how they generally run just by
looking at some other similar product, of which, fitday typically contains
several. Finding specific label info via google is the better way.
