Anyone out there experience dizziness on Atkins? I tried Atkins for about 3
months and felt dizzy and light headed a good portion of the time, so I had
to stop. It eventually worked for me, but took a good solid month to start
achieving weight loss beyond just 2 pounds. I eventually lost up to 10
pounds, but being dizzy most of the time just wasn't worth it to me to
continue.

I was dizzy and spacey when I was low on potassium.

Dizziness is not a normal side effect of the Atkins way of eating witht he
recommended supplements. Also, from time to time some have complained of
dizziness when drinking too much water while on Atkins, as the excess water
can flush valuable electrolytes from the system.--

In my experience, dizziness, such as when rising quickly from a chair, is a
symptom of low calories. For me it lasts less than 5 seconds, and never
causes a fall. So, I ignore it. To me it is just a confirmation that I am
doing a good job.My blood pressure is MUCH lower than back when I was 300+ pounds. I think
the problem comes from momentary low blood pressure. The 5 second recovery
happens, when the body suddenly raises the pulse rate to compensate. I have
a strap on heart monitor that records to a data file and displays on my PC.
I had it on my body when this happened once. That is how I know about the
sudden jump in pulse rate that saved me from passing out. It was very clear
on a chart of my heart rate.Making sure your calories stay above 1000 might help.
The heart monitor was a gift. It is intended for use during exercise. It
is made by Polar."Dave n Deb" <[email hidden]> wrote in message

A low carb diet is something of a natural diuretic. If you are taking
blood pressure medicene, your blood pressure may be dropping too low and
causing you to feel dizzy.Cookie

One cause is diet related -> low in calories.
The other causes are body dis functions related -> check with your doctor.Google it.
Some web sites or software will show you all the possible diseases of
"dizziness".On Sun, 17 Apr 2005 13:23:54 -0700, "Dave n Deb" <[email hidden]>
