However, it feels like one of the (second hand) pedals is bent and I'm still having problems with the bearings seating properly after replacing the rear axle. The stem's a bit on the short side (Standard Byke bmx stem), but drop the seat and it feels like a big bmx. It will stay like this for the forseeable future, although I'll eventually put on a slightly longer stem and a set of P2's for full FUSSY compliance.
Now, I can only fit in one ride this weekend - is it going to be the new SS, or the Bredtin (with new bits)? Decisions, decisions...

Have to say it looks v nice bomba. Finally decided to turn my daily ride into a SS, but I am on a strict budget to do it. Where are good starting points for info, specs etc Mark

If I recall, your chain is better off routed above the tensioner, that way it wraps farther around the cog.

I did mine on a very low budget. Almost everything on there is second-hand. The only think I had to fork out for was the SS conversion kit (forge-forge-Open ↗ mtb.com/single.asp?cat=FORGEMTB&product=FMBS006) and a 32t ring. Having said that, some things on the Bredtin did get upgraded a little sooner than they may otherwise have done.

I'm just worried about it being a little too sensitive (especially with rigid forks), so I'd rather go for something round 80mm than 50mm. Anyway, we'll see how it goes.

Cheers for the offer, but what I think I'm probably going to do is upgrade (downgrade?) the X-Lite Fly on the Bredtin for a Thomson or RF Deus. The Fly will then go on the SS.
