Yes, the treatment was 100% safe, and the patient died.

Not if the patient's condition was mild, and chronic, rather than at any acute stage.

You may make that distinction, but the charlatans who sell such things a chelation for ASHD, etc.
do not. In those cases, the bodies can pile up.

If you could clarify the situation, briefly, that would be helpful.

Is that a mild, chronic illness?

Who are the people that die, and why?

Chronic yes, mild no. The first symptom is often a fatal heart attack.

The ones who don't know they have the condition, and the ones who know they have it but don't pursue
    treatment that's actually effective.

Jan, I suffer from a somatization disorder. I have anxiety attacks. It is all in my head. It is
real. Please stop saying that things that are only in the head are not real.

Arteriosclerotic heart disease. todya, the treatment that is used is CABG, coronary artery bypass
grafting, which has been shown to be effective in restoring blood flow to the myocardium (the
    heart muscle)..

The alternative approach is chelation which has never been shown to increase blood flow or decrease
the amount of narrowing of coronary vessels.

Who are the people that die, and why?

The people who die are those who suffer a massive coronary thinking that chelation has cured the
underlying disease. Ihave looked at dozen of webistes where chelation is offered and I have yet to
see a disclaimer where the salesperson/doctor says that chelation has never been shown to open
    narrowed arteries.

In fact, in men, for the majority of patients with atherosclerotic heart disease, the first symptom
is a heart attack (nonfatal or fatal).

Then it is a serious, rather than a mild condition,
particularly by the time such an operation is being
    considered.

Then, based on what you are saying only, it sounds as if a
disclaimer with words to that effect would be a good idea.

Agreed. However, they do not do it, unless forced by the
    licensing authority.

Ms. Drew has chortled for months about dentists in
Calaifornia having to post a disclaimer wrt
amalgams, but, steadfastly denied that the one
infamous docotor who did chelation without a
    disclaimer did anything wrong.
