  1. I'm guessing he's going to have a 1st wave spot, so getting caught within the masses won't be a problem. I'm going to say 2:35.

    2:35? no way
    2:55

Four weeks ago, Armstrong was running around 6 1/2-minute miles in
training. That's likely to be his race pace. 2:35 is not out of the
question, but 2:55 is about 10 minutes too slow a guess. I think he'll
finish under 2:40; the question is by how much,

  4. I will be impressed if he does it under 3 hours.I read in the Austin
paper the other day that he had not done a run over 14-16 miles while
training. If this is indeed the case he will most likely hit the famous
wall about mile 20-22.In my experiance the first marathon is always by
    far the toughest.

But this isn't his first marathon. One would hope that as a former pro
triathlete, he'd know what he was doing with respect to marathons.

Never did Ironman. Self proclaimed longest was a single half Ironman.
His stated claim is to finish within an hour of the winner so 3:07-3:12
it what he is aming for.

    2:55

Jaja his 1st marathon ever 2:55..Lance knows that and will beat it.
    2:44 is my guess.

    Call it the Jaja line....

    Jaja's 2:55 seems like a reasonable goal. But a German ex-pro cyclist
(sorry, can't recall the name right now) ran a 2:42 marathon debut
earlier this year. If LANCE is really compulsive, that'd be the line.

Hehhehehe, you used the word "if" before Lance and compulsive.

Yeah, it's terrible sad when a guy like Armstrong just refuses to
respect the physical demands of an event that pushes you to your cardio
for 3 straight hours. Clearly, he'll be lucky if the event doesn't kill
him. Hope one of his handlers is jogging with a defrib kit.

Having read all the other stuff here, I'll guess at "supermotivated" and
    go 2:34

Too heavy, and too many people too much attention. 3h10.

But if he's supermotivated then weight doesn't count. Ask Lafferty.

No way. I did my first and only marathon in 2-47. I was running 6 minute
miles in training and could run a 33min 10K. If he is only running 6-30
min/mile in training, he should be slower. I'm saying 2-57.

Has the race been run yet? I go with 2:35:00. I am not
an athlete at any level and ran a six minute mile. If
Armstrong is claiming 6:30, then he is sand bagging.
