No, the worst of it was I did a fell race a few days after the blister
arrived. I stupidly used the same shoes that had caused it with nothing
more than a sticking plaster over the blister. In my head it was a short
fell race and over a week to my next event, no problem. I had also just
finished reading "Feet in the Clouds", a fantastic book about fell
running, and in there there were tales of people like Joss Naylor who had
run races with broken feet---how could I not run a wussy little race with
a wussy little blister. That aggravated the thing a hell of a lot.

Which is why I've not ridden since last Wednesday. I think you just
have to accept you've lost the training time and don't run the risk of
loosing a lot more time for the sake of getting back on the bike a day

You shower too hard! A good time to apply them is just before bed. The dry
warmth of the bed gives them time to bond.
