Are WW Scales Rounding?

I doubt that ww is rounding weights ... usually if rounding you would move the number up or down to
the nearest half pound or full pound .. .not even tenth of a pound.

Different scales measure in different increments. Older digital type scales will only measure in
full pounds. Some scales measure in half pounds, some have markoffs at the quarter pound intervals
and newer models will show measurements every 2 tenths of a pound. My guess is ww is using a newer
scale that is using the latter measurements. Do they let you look at the scale when you weigh in? If
so, you should then be able to see what measurement form the scale is using.

Most 'consumer' model scales (technically called balances) measure in 1/2 lb increments. Seeing as
they aren't super acurate, that is usually good enough. As you move up in price and accuracy, you
will see them go to 0.2 lb increments. If your feeling very generous to yourself, get a Dr's scale
(balance scale with sliding weights) and get smaller increments with excellent accuracy. Be prepared
for the sticker shock though...

Our scales weigh in .2 increments. I'm not sure if all WW meetings are the same. We check the scales
by weighing on them both ourselves before each meeting to be sure they are both on zero and both
weigh the same. Also we put them away afterward so I have no idea if I'm using the same scale I had
last week.

I've heard someone say that WW uses Tanita scales which weigh in .2 pound increments. (I have a set
and they weigh that way, too.

Well, yes, unless you happen to fall exactly on a 0.2 division. But that is still a pretty fine
demarcation. But whether it rounds up or down I have no idea and I'm sure that the WW people won't
know either but probably UP to the nearest 0.2

Take off or add a sock to see if it shifts and how much
