I have an expensive pair of SIDI's, and I chose them for three reasons: 1)
they are lightweight, 2)They have lots of breatable nylon mesh that keep my
feet cool on 100-degree days and 3) they have one strap and a larger velcro
closer that makes it easy to put the shoes on and take them off. Of those
three things, the ventilation was what I was willing to pay most for.

Any shoe that has good construction, and fits well is worth it. Since I
don't know your cycling habits its hard to comment beyond that.

I'm pretty sure there is some kind of price fixing going on. Especially
since all the mail order places sell the shoes at the same price as the
LBS.
