Are lightweight tubes reliable?

I use michelin latex ones for racing, very ligth but far more important comfort is higher and roling resistance is lower.

I think for real racing you should for training certainly not

I don't rate latex tubes. At this years Etape du Tour I'd say about 75% of the people I saw with flats were running latex tubes. Weight: compared to Michelin Ultra Lights there's very little in it.

I've been using superlight (Bontrager, Michelin etc..) for training & racing(road, tri's, & IM's), and haven't flatted since 1998.

Some people just don't get it. As far as punctures are concerned, it doesn't matter what type of tube you use. Puncture protection is provided by the tyre and the tyre alone. It is the tyre that is pressure rated, not the tube!
The tube you use can be as light as you like but the tyre must be able to resist the cuts.

Tafi ive got the continental attack force set so they provide good
puncture protection.
Why do lots of say some tubes puncture more than others of its down to tyre protection only for having flats?
Is it just a cycling myth then.
