steal the stage for now:
1) What was your best run (training run or race) and why?
Training run(s)...the first time I've done any speed/track work...all
of them...a bunch of Donny's Deeks. I'm looking forward to getting
back into them in feb or march after the current push for getting the
weekly mileage up. I think a goal race next year is going to be a 5
miler in the second week in april.
I only did two races this year, a half marathon and a 5k. they were
both had highs and lows, so if I had done a few more races, neither one
of these two could ever qualify as a "best" in any way. In the half, I
think I lacked enough tempo training and race readiness. I've done
better on less, more intense mileage with cross training, and I've done
better on lots of biking with only one slow run a week. But as it
goes, I ended up running at a pace I didn't think I was going to hit.
The 5k was neat because it was so small, I was at the front. I ran the
first mile, for more than a mile at a 5:49 pace, mostly uphill. I blew
spectacularly ending up with 20:52, but it was thrilling while it
lasted. And I know I can get there soon, next year.

Went for a 10mile run "at lunch" at work on a 5mile loop. Lost my ID.
Had to run an extra 5miles to find it...didn't find it...but when I got
back, a more friendly security guard was at the door.

"wind pants" from Target, on sale now...$9.99 Need to get another few
pairs.
Armwarmers...the kind cyclists wear. perfect for fall and spring or
winter days when the temperature can vary because of wind or sun.
