  1. I'm looking for comments on any variation of this Dubmbell/Rack/Bench
    Setup?

    Thanks in advance.

A good alternative is a rubber mat and an Olympic weight set.

Another good alternative is a few kettlebells.

    Yes.

    You're welcome.

  6. Yeah I guess I could see the BF 552 dumbells and a small bench not
using up much floor space. It depends on your goals really.

  7. That should not take up much space, depending on your goals I say go
    for it...

ordered and shipped today from homefitnessclub.com. i bought the 552
set of dumbbells, the bowflex/nautilus rack, the 5.1 bench, and got a
FREE Glass Body Fat Scale (for orders over $500) that Amazon sells for
$95. total cost was $598 to include shipping. as a note: the
nautilus web site sells the selecttech package (same as I'm getting)
    for $866 + $17.95 shipping.

Looking forward to getting it, and thanks for the encouragement!!

At least you're honest. Most of the potential buyers of Bowflex and
other high-glitz overpriced exercise equipment are really looking for
encouragement to buy what they have pretty much decided to buy,
anyway. Whenever someone in MFW tells them why it's overpriced or
ineffective, they simply argue about it because they already made up
their minds to buy it, anyway. You admit that you were seeking
encouragement, and you found one person who offered it. Congrats.

i immediately thought about a home gym. we live in a small condo, and
that's really what i intended on putting up. however, due to the
space requirements of a home gym, i began searching elsewhere. the
bowflex is likely overpriced, and the quality I don't really know much
about, but I'm going to give it a try.

I would never trade my gym membership for a bowflex of any kind, but
since you are looking to save space in a condo and you have the cash,
what the heck. I have dumbells scrattered all around my house, but it's
a house so I have lots of free floor space...
