Get yourself a nice Australian model. Preferably blonde, single and with a degree in sports science.

We use trainers when the weather is unridable outside (ie. rain, snowstorm, etc.). We have a couple
of Minoura Hyper-Mags and we throw the road bikes on and pedal while watching tv.

Ride your bike all year. Mountain bikes are made to do that.

I've used a trainer for prerace warm-ups when riding before the start is not much of an option
(relay races, etc). Works... okay. Put on slicks or it'll rattle the windows real good.

Otherwise, just ride all year. Riding in different weather conditions may teach you more skills. If
you go riding in the rain, don't go and try to not get muddy.. if you do that, you'll still get
muddy and may be irritated by
it. Go -expecting- to get muddy and it may not bother you as much.

Is that something like a potty-trainer?
