Haven't seen it but if it has Sue Haywood in it I'd say go for it. I've met her several times at
races and even been lapped by her. She's a 'real' mountain biker (not a roadie racer on a mtb) and a

should check out the "tracking techiniqe" they used for one of the segments, they show it on the
"behind the scenes" clip...

just as capable as men, and the thought of special training to ride a G*d D*mn bike is ludicrous!

Now of course a woman might not be as physically capable as a man, but

lot of woman out there who could put a lot of men to shame.....I'm sure they didn't need any special
friggin' training.

From a man's point of view it seem that this is belittling women. "Oh come over here little lady and
learn how to ride like a woman" What a crock of sh!t!

the very short answer is that *some* women have a really different learning style from men and do
better learning the exact same skills in a testosterone free environment that's typically supportive
and nurturing of all successes.

You can google my old posts ad nauseum, I've discussed this before in regards to bike camp and
groups of women riding together. Lest you think that girls only stuff is dumbed down, don't make an
ass of yourself. It's typically presented in a fashion where elements are simplified and broken down
and then built up. Some women tend to over analyze and are not easily able to "just go for it" There
can be a need to understand it before you go for it.

other women.

I do seem to recall that when I posted my RR's from camp, there was a lot of "wow that sounds cool"
and not a whole lot of "why did you go waste your money on dumbed down girly riding"

Also, some women feel much more comfortable learning in a single-gender environment, especially when
you're trying something that makes you nervous. Bad enough to be feeling anxious and tentative
without Joe Schmoe (or Dan Volker) deciding to leap into the fray and "fix" all your issues.

I have this exact same gripe about separating women and men in any sort of educational environment.
It seems to me that it would be much more beneficial to have students classify themselves by
learning style than by gender. And this bothers me. I am 100% sure that I benefitted from the
competition with other highly competetive and aggressive kids in both high school and in my martial
arts classes. While some girls (and boys!) might not have fared as well, I thrived. I don't want
other girls like me to lose that opportunity to excel just because, in general, "girls don't have
the same learning style as boys." If we're going to engage in this kind of division, let's do it by
personality type, not by gender, which is not necessarily correlated to learning style.

It's like having special dance classes for white people, or something. (Wait, is that line dancing?)
