Anyone got a 5th gen Celica (89-93)?

The Celica can handle a small receiver hitch. A hitch rack might work
pretty well for you.

The problem with the gt-four is the fuel tank is immediately behind the
bumper bar and spans the entire rear end - its not like the non-4x4
celica so although a hitch is possible its a damn expensive custom
jobby from what ive been told 🙁

I bet Yakima or Thule makes a roof rack that would work. With a wind
deflector your mileage wouldn't be hit too hard.
Of course if you're worried about looks, it may not suit your tastes but
it would haul your bike(s) and keep the dirt outside the car.
I think somewhat sporty cars with bike racks look cool, so I'd
definitely go that route (and I have).

I had a Yakima roof rack with two King Cobras on a Pontiac Grand AM.
Even with the flaring installed, it cut my gas mileage dramtically. In
fact, I get better mileage on my Bravada with a hitch rack, than I got
with the roof rack.

I got a towbar (you call it a ball hitch or something over there?) and
it was about NZD$400 fitted. It was some non-standard custom jobbie but
it was a custom jobbie that some guy in the next city churned out by the
dozens apparently. That's about USD$300 roughly. I fit two bikes on it
no trouble - even if they do bounce around a bit, they're not going to
come off.

Westie, do you have an alltrac/gtfour? I've spoken to several
manufacturers now and they all said there is nowhere to attach on on
the 'four that will take the load of towing and so they wont fit one,
or I'd have one (already have a hitch rack from my old peugeot).
