If you can wait till Monday, there are a couple of regs from your neck of the woods. Spademan's in
Southport and Shaun's in Blackburn.

S'true, although I would use the terms 'regular' and 'xc' loosely. Drop me or Shaun an e-mail and we
can let you know when one/both of us are heading out next. I think Shaun has some involvement with
an MTB club which might also be helpful to you.
Cheers!
Steve.

It'll likely be a couple of weeks before I can ride again, as my right thumb is swolen, painful, and
unusable, and I have muscle trauma in my left thigh making it very difficult to walk. Luckily
(huh...), Kath finished working last week, and is able to drive me here and back.

Maybe! 'BAD' mtb club (Blackburn And District), run in conjunction with my LBS.

Did I miss the explanation for this? or would it be TMI...

eh? I thought you were a northern hard bloke? 'can hardly walk'? sounds like a 5 mile uphill ride to
work on a singlespeed should be no trouble. Get on't bike lad, married life is turning you into a
southern softy like Bomba.

Really, my leg will hardly support any weight. I still managed to walk about 4 miles yesterday, a
bit here and there, but it was slow going and paiful.

You do know how useless a hand becomes when the thumb is removed from the equation dontcha?

Is that physio-speak for a dead leg?

I concur. At least I have an excuse for being southern and soft...

Well Im just getting back into this bike rinding malarky. A car and an office job have made me soft
(and round and cuddly and wobbly, you get the idea). Im going to start riding into work from the end
of this month to get fit over the winter. That will give me 16miles a day of cold fingers, toes and
a hardened rear end so I might tackle some longish rides in the new year
🙂
I remember when I didn have a car, I would do 60mile rides and not really blink an eyelid...Im sure
I can do it again.
Id email you, but Im sure your emails arnt going to be real for SPAM purposes.
My email is tom at zerofiveone d0t c0m, looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers, Tom

I don't go riding regularly yet (too unfit) but am just down the road in Bolton.
