Anyone doing Any Glenshee Hills tmrw ?

Enjoy. We dandered up there last week. We headed up Glen Lochsie,
and if that's your start then a suggestion is where the main track
crosses the river where there's a switchback on the old railway,
don't follow the main track but take the route of the railway: it's
/much/ nicer. After a while you come to a small concrete bridge,
which is a good point to turn up the hill and then get towards the
summit over the connecting ridges. If you follow up to the old
ruined lodge where the main track takes you then it's a hack up a
bulldozed track pretty much to the top, not nearly so nice.

We'd planned the couple beyond, but the weather had clagged in, so
I hope it's nicer for you. The return up the valley running the
other side of G-T isn't nearly as dull as it looks on the map, and
we found it a rather pleasant walk.

From the Spittal? It's an easy climb (actually I took a bike as
far as the ruined lodge) and although that's all I did, the route
over the top to the neighbouring Munros looked straightforward
enough.

Lots of Featureless Terrain. My favourite!

Drove up and saw the sign just past 'Spittal of Glenshee' announcing
'hillwakers park here'. Taking a gambled I drove up to the Dalmnzie
Hotel which is in a private rd.

Another sign indicated hillwakers to report to reception. I was going to
say I was going to buy a drink after the walk bu the barman said that
the estate asks for 2pounds, no worries and reasonable.

Headed off up the easy landy track all the way to the summit, stinking hot
and humid, mid to high twenties. A bit hazy to see beyond the imediate
hills.
Then saunterd off down the rdige on the eastern side following a faint
deer track, oops shorts on hopefully no ticks.

A very easy hill, approx 15kms, 4 and a half hrs, photos to follow.

90th complete, just a few more to go.

A more aesthetic route would be via the Glen Taitneach path then the right
hand, eastern ridge.
Climbing thru better scenery, perfect u shaped glaciated corrie.

Looks like it. I did the same route as you though, and saw deer
on the way down the ridge/spur. The cornice over the corrie looks
good in snow btw if a bit small to be really impressive up close.

Yeah, it's perfect corrie scooped by a glacier. Gave a photo of to a geog
teacher at my school.
