I did one time.h, but that's because I'm mentally unstable. I got into two fist-fights that night
and one other confrontation wearing my bike shorts, Oakley Blades and my cleat shoes for the pedals.
I didn't use any light, I just went riding around with shades after dark until I finally wound up at
a convenience store and interrogated the cashier about gangs. Then I went to taco cabana and started
preaching at some customers and that's when /me and this dude started throwing the rounds.

Home made system - MR16 bar mounted, 50W/24 degree halogen, 2x3.3 Ah sealed lead acid batteries,
frame mounted. Also have another 50W/24 halogen that I can fit on my helmet. I use one or the other
depending on where I'm riding (Bar mount for road mainly).

I get about 1 1/2 hours out of the battery, but I never really got round to finishing the project
properly, which would have given me more battery life.

Total cost = about £20.

Yes and no. I use a Niterider Storm HID helmet light. $350. Freakin' bright as day hence the 'yes
and no' part. I also have a old Vistalite system.

Yup!

Offroad - NiteRider HID on the helmet. A $15 Trek AA powered light is in the Camelbak as a backup.

On-road - Niterider Digital Pro 12 w/ tail light, a Trek blinkie, Tireflys, and plenty of
reflectors.

I especially like pre-dawn road riding before work. It's kind of cool watching the sun come up.

We do it all the time, especially in the wintertime because of lack of lighting. We use Niterider
helmet lights.

Holy [censored]! And I thought 15 on the helmet and 35 on the bars was borderline overkill.

Quick tip: A ten degree 20W on the helmet will give you pretty much the same punch as the 50/24. And
you won't have to carry around a nine pound battery to run it.

My ideal setup was going to be 15/10 helmet, 20/20 bars, and I've been meaning to build a PWM
regulator, so I can hook the batts up in series, and efficiently drop the voltage down to about
13.5/14 volts (over-volting - this would give me both more batt. life, and more light, at the slight
expense of bulb life.

Oh, and the batteries down weigh more than 4 pounds ',;~}

Phillips ones, which I thought would be superior, are _shite_. They give less than half the

yup most wednesday nights, uses a twin bar mount of a 15w vista nightstick and a 10 w vista night

VistaLite. (handle bar mounted, one 5watt and one 10watt)

Inexpensive and the rechargeable battery lasts about 1.5 hours (I usually take 2 batteries
just in case.)

Performance has them for about $100.

I've visited, but this was an idea I'd had before I built the lights, I just involve myself in so

equally good, so I think it's the make in this case.

My homemade system looks like this: medlem.spray.selights.htmlOpen ↗ It was
one 100W and one 55W with separate switches powered by two 4Ah batteries. The 55W was later replaced
by a 20W spotlight. I used the system for winter training on the road, I wouldn't go offroad with
those heavy batteries. Nowadays when I'm in the woods I use a Mila helmet mounted 20/10W system
powered by a 8Ah NiMh 500gram battery.

Off road a Cateye helmet light and a Turbo Cat bar light. On road its a Cygo Explorer and a Cateye
non flashing tail light. I do more on road since I ride to work at 5 am Mon,Tue, Thur,Fri, and Sat.

I live in NH, and we night ride all year round ('cept when the snow is too deep. Anyway, downhilling
is a blast at 11:30 pm.... Try using 'NiteSuns'. I think they are Jap made, but they're bright as
hell, and can be had for about 65$ --yes, they ARE bright enough to go downhilling with.
