Anybody else feel depressed/crappy when you don't get to ride?

I am always mean rotten and miserable. Not riding just makes everyone else around me miserable.

My ex-wife never rode a bike if you catch my meaning.

She had the ability or desire to make everyone around her miserable. Whether that was manifested out of not riding a bike is only a therory.

I hear you. My wife rides her bike about 5 or 6 times a year. The other 360 days are well interesting.

I wouldn't say I get depressed when I don't ride, but that's what beer is for. I do feel better when I ride, though, and reward myself with a beer afterward. Win-win.

Not quite half. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif I didn't ride today and I do feel a little guilty. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/frown.gif

A day doesn't get me very depressed, but two or more. Yes. When i am in a car, i often find my self thinking "This would be a good road to bike on!" then i wish i could have my bike with me. I think a different way when off the bike for more than a day, certain things remind me of cycling that shouln't and its just kind of weird.

Meh i just find myself saying. Im 270 and I can go faster then this traffic on my 35lb mountain bike.

It's pretty normal for that to happen. This is why some people walk around in this numb state of depression. They don't exercise. You know there is an endorphin rush that you'll need every day. It's good for you. Especially if you are doing serious amounts of it. Your body will be looking for it even more than you.

Yes - because cycling is my hobby, and I am the happiest when I am doing things that I am able to enjoy. The first thing that I do in the morning is look out of the window and check my emails. If I don't have any work that needs to be completed before lunchtime, and the weather is good, I will go for a ride. I don't like it when it is very heavy rain. I don't mind cycling in the rain, but I always need a shower when I get home and I don't have the time for that on a work day. So yes, I do always feel down when I am not able to ride, but my mood always improves when I get out there again.

I do not want to break the routine because I know it will be quite a challenge to get used to it again. Those bodily pains will certainly be harder to cope with if I stop. My phase I know will be affected too like starting from square one again. I do not feel crappy at all just restless

Yes, I prefer to spend my days riding my bike rather than bound at my desk hunched over the computer. Unfortunately, I have to pay the bills and riding doesn't exactly do that. I was hoping that courier companies in my area would employ or contract cyclists to handle some of their deliveries. I would take up such an offer immediately if it existed. That's why I make the most of my weekends when I've finally got some free time to spend it riding.
