  1. Hello. It looks like there are a few that could be good: Body for life
companion, Diet and Exercise Assistant, Fitness Plus, etc. Does anyone have
any advice or experience using any of this type of program to help us eat
right and track gym visits? Thanks in advance..Sven

  2. Looks like an interesting list of software, but many of us here in ASDLC use
    Fitday.

Fitday has a $20 download that has worked very well in my diet management.
They have activity recording features in it too, but I never used those.

    I think Roger uses Lifeform.

  3. I just purchased the Atkins program for my Palm. It takes a bit getting
used to. Today is actually my first day of using it as well as my first
day of induction. Hopefully it will help keep my on track.

It works and has quite a few features for calculating and recording
nutritional needs and weight-loss/exercise goals, pretty much like
FitDay, but is a bit clunky to use compared to FitDay. I tend to use the
Palm only when out in restaurants etc., and transfer the data to FitDay
at a later time. It has a food database that can be added to or modified
but you need a recent version of Palm/Palm OS and an external card for
extra memory for it to be effective.

    Regards

    David

I have a nutrition database that I bought when I got my FreeStyle Tracker.
I thought I would really like it (and paid too much for it), but it turned
out to be rather tedious to locate and enter everything on the little PDA.
Then I bought the PC version of FitDay (only $29.95, as I recall). It does
everything that I could do on the PDA but *much* quicker and more easily. I
know this doesn't asnwer your actual question, but I recommend that you look
into something like FitDay before making a decision. They also have an
online version (free), so you could try it out that way. However, I prefer
to keep my data on my own computer.

What do you do when you're at work? Does Fitday the program provide a way
to enter data while at work, then link with your home computer?

I just enter the data after I get home. I usually don't even need to keep
notes. However, you might look into the online program to see if you could
enter information there, then transfer it to your home computer. I think
    that would work.

Unfortunately, you can't do that. There's no way to get data from the
online version into the PC version. I ended up returning my PC
version because of that; I didn't want to lose several months' worth
    of online data.
