  1. I'll fly into Melbourne from Darwin of the afternoon of the 19th of
August. After a concert Saturday evening, I think I'll be up to doing a
bit of a ride with my touring bicycle. I am not a racing type- just a
tourer who would be interested in bicycling in or around Melbourne. I
    won't have a vehicle - I don't think at this stage. Heck, I haven't left
Canada yet, nor have I bicycled the Savannah Way yet.

From past experience, mid week bicycling in most cities is reeeeeeel
quiet. Sunday the 20th would be my only shot at bicycling with folks in
    Melbourne.

  2. There's a BR scheduled for all Sundays, and everyone is welcome. No
stress about what bike you have or level of fitness (within reason, of
course). The meet point is the same, as is the start time, every
    Sunday.

Did anyone go out today, I think this might be the first BR
    cancellation/no show?

First one in 98 weeks, if so. Did Lama do enough of the route to
count as it being ridden by someone this week?

So, for an outsider like me, where in Melbourne do the riders meet for the
sunday BR? When do they start? Any local web site with any details - some
clubs give such details, but I know nothing (sorry to Sgt Schultz) about
    the melbourne BR scene.

Thank you in advance for info.
