  1. Having tons of Qs in mind regarding lifesaving (as a sport); is there
    anyone doing this sport?

1> Which is more important for better performance in championships?
    Skill or Strength?

2> How to run faster in loose sand?

3> Having trouble with fins and rescue tube when doing 200M
Superlifesaver, any special techniques? Some people taught me to turn
the fins inside out b4 use, it just made things more complicated to
    me...

    Thx

  2. what does lifesaving as a sport entail? Do you drown someone and see
    who saves him first?

Lifesaving is a significant sport in Australia, particularly Surf Life
    Saving.

The website of Surf Life Saving Australia is www.slsa.asn.au or the
Royal Life Saving Society, the still water organisation, can be found
    at www.royallifesaving.com.au.

The section of Surf Life Saving with the highest public profile is the
Iron Man competition, possibly the precursor to triathlon although
Iron Man does not include cycling. It is made up of running, swimming,
canoeing, and surf ski from memory. Another iconic part of the sport
    is the surf boat event.

  5. "Lifesaving as a competition" is a great competition (in the USA, as
    well as in Australia).

  6. Hi
You have to progress for both... but work on your skills first... then
    put some power on...

For the run in the sand it depends for which event?
Beach flags : run with your knees up.
Beach sprint : you have to go deep with your feet into the sand...

For the superlifesaver (my favorite) you have to work it at practice,
especially when you have to wear your fins during the race. You cannot
win time, but you can loose a lot with that.
    - Grab the rope-tube(red part) first, put it around your neck.
    - Then grab the fins.
    - Push on the wall to move back (still watching the wall side), like
that the rope won't stay in your feet.
    - Put the fins on your feet (try left and right, then right and left
and choose the easier for you)
    - Then you can start and in the same time don't forget to pass on arm
into the rope of the tube and go...
For the Lifesaver don't start too quickly on the first 100, swim on
your arms on the third 50 to keep your legs for the last 50 with the
    dummy!

    Have Fun
