organises it.

but it seemed to be a one-off. I'd be interested
to find some others. Most tend to be courier

Toll are a freight company.

From my experiences the only courier races you had to be a courier for were aussie champs and international champs, but then again, you can say you couriered 5 years ago in another city and who is going to know otherwise?

I found that the organisers were happy for anyone to race as all it does is increase the kitty for the winners, which means more beers at that pub up behind the vic st markets, which i cant remember the name of now.

Is the crumpler organised one you mentioned be the aussie champs in '99 perchance?

i came over from perth with team PCP (perth courier posse, whoo hoo!!) and i dont remember any warehouse.....and i know my memory aint that bad.

The main start area, etc was at the now built over skate park on swanston st. Good event, i loved it and had a great time!!!!

i dont know if that pub was called the mercat cross or not. It is just north of the queen vic markets near the corner of elizabeth st.

Not sure if anyone will have a copy of it, but there is an article in a bicycling australia from late 2000/early 2001 that had an article on the aussie champs in adelaide in 2000 which had me as the protagonist, with pics et al. My defining moment in the print media..😉

Mercat Cross is the only one I know, but that's
because it's the only one I've been to near QVM.
There could be 400 pubs in that area..? :-)

I have old BA mags but I'm not sure about those
particular years. It was probably Freewheel that
wrote about the cat I'm thinking of.
I'm still trying to get famous in the local bike press..
