  1. Just moved my Anquet from one computer to another after I've installed linux
(yet again...on my laptop), but I noticed it mentioned that it can be put
Anquet on 2 computers at once (but use only one at a time). I remember
something was mentioned on uk.rec.walking a while back about this, but I'm
not sure if it means computer and PC pocket?

Any help, before sending for help?

    TIA

I think you're quite safe. After all, if you play a CD on your stereo
at home you are perfectly entitled to play it in your car and on your
    discman.

The problem is that the strict OS licensing prevents having two "active"
copies installed. Although it's possible to re-genreate a new keycode,
and to therefore have two installs, the whole procedure has to be
    repeated everytime there's an upgrade.

I believe that Anquet were very close to an agreement with the OS that
one laptop and one desktop was acceptable. How do you police this?? Dunno.

Pocket PC install is also covered under the licence (where the OS
license restricts the amount of data on each PocketPC) but is separate
    from this issue.

I suggest you contact the Anquet support team who are usually very helpful.

    From their EULA:
"A device is defined as a single computer containing the software
product capable only of being accessed on a single user basis. This
product is for personal use only. It may only be installed on a
maximum of two computer devices (with the exception of any aerial
photography present which may only be installed on one computer and
one PDA) subject to the restrictions that the software may not be
accessed on both devices concurrently and that access to the software
(irrespective of which device it is installed on) shall be limited to
    one user. "

I suspect that upon a judicial review anyone convicted of software
fraud for having one license of the same software on their home PC and
personal laptop would have their conviction quashed.

Quite possibly - unless of course both machines were in use at the same
    time.

  7. Hi
You only have 30 days use on the other computer. The Software generates a
different code for each PC and they wont give you another qcode at anquet.
But I aggree contact them as they are very helpful

There's no problem with having Anquet on computer and pocket PC now.
It was me who posted re: changes a while ago: see
    http://tinyurl.com/44yry

The changes have now been introduced: if you go to webpage you can
find out how to get the second license legitimately.

    HTH!
