  1. Um...*blushing*...in the summer, when I shave my bikini area, it gets really irritated and sore when the hair starts growing back when I'm on the bike doing longer rides. How do you other ladies handle this problem? Waxing (OWEEEE!)?, Nair? shave more often...?

  2. Hi there,

hmmm i hear ya, waxing didnt make much difference to me, still got ingrowns/irritation, all I can suggest is using a nice sharp razor and shaving cream NOT SOAP, and exfoiliating every day and using a non irritating moisturiser, Nair is ok, but I find its the growing back bit that hurts so it doesnt matter what method of hair removal is used!

  3. I have the same probleml....I get really irritated and sore when I go for longer rides. I have started using "bodyglide" which helps with chafing and blisters....this helps!! Also, a good saddle is important!

  4. Anyone ever used the Epil Stop hair removal system? If so, did it make a difference?

    Hi ladies,

I posted the original sore girl parts question for my wife. Although I don't have this problem, I do have a suggestion that might help. I shave my legs for racing. I usually get razor burn. One way I have found to combat the problem is to use isopropyl alcohol (IPA or aka rubbing alcohol) on the areas that tend to be more subject to irritation. The purpose of this is to eliminate the microbes that reside in the area that has become compromised due to shaving. The bugs can get in the little nicks and crannies left by the razor and become infected, blister etc. Anyway, I came across this once, in my younger days, when I asked a professional dancer how she prevented razor burn in her bikini area. Dancers shave the bikini area frequently for obvious reasons. AFter shaving this woman said she blotted her bikini area with IPA afterwards. You can imagine how her career might stall out if she were to have razor burn or bumps or irritation in this area. Anyway, thanks for indulging and hopefully you won't hold this against me 🙂 ....alex

    um, OW!

  7. There's this stuff called "Bikini Zone", wich (for me at least) has cured all ingrown iritations. Try it, its unbelieveable!! I got it at shoppers drug mart ($6)

  8. I started laughing when I read this thread... but I do have a bit of a secret that has helped me out for years. I came about it totally by accident, and it works for me, but might not for everyone. After I shave, whatever part of the body it happens to be... I use a cream or in my case, coconut oil with peppermint essential oil added to it [not too much just a couple of drops or your entire house will stink of peppermint -- know made the mistake] and after you shave you put some of the part, private or exposed. The peppermint for some reason stops those red dots and irritation from starting. After that, just keep using it every day... and basically shave every day so that the horrible stubble doesn't hurt when riding. I use deodorant in the bikini area [the type without aluminium, which everyone should be using anyways] to prevent the area from becoming irrritated by sweat. Anyways, hope that helps if you venture out to try it. It works for me.

  9. uhm, just reread what I wrote and hope you understand what I meant by, private or exposed. private=as in private parts but not inner, and exposed=legs, and such. 🙂 try not to get too close to 'you know what' when in the private area... and, if you do, you'll know what NOT to do next time. 🙂)))

    geezzzz alex..talk about ouch!

  11. The true answer to this problem is OFF with the hair by waxing or dont shave at all.

I have been doing a Brazilian for 20 years and I have very few hair growths now.

    Cheers Oran
