    .... Lumicycle.

    I can't stop selling these guys. Okay, they're not cheap ... but they are
    quality.

    Just sent my lamps back for a revamp & new bulbs. The care they have taken
    over them made me take them out of the jiffy bag numerous times tonight.

    Okay, they sent them to my old address. 50/50[1] blame on that. New person
    in the flat 100%.

    My lamps are as good as new. Not plugged them in yet, but new ties, new
    spacers, new switch .. even new "plug in" bits. They've greased the lot and
    smoothed down a nasty metal bit (my own making).

    Princely sum of £20 .. £16 of which was new bulbs .. £3 new switch. £0.99p
    postage. I'm looking forward to winter .. almost!

    Nick [#1 fan of Lumi's!]

    [1] 51/49 ... but hell, who's counting!

    They are good. Very helpful when I had mine stolen -- issued me with a
    replacement invoice the next day as I needed it for the insurance.

    Their bulbs are a bit of a rip-off though. Much cheaper from Ricam:

    lots of opportunities to experiment there: make sure you switch off the 35
    watt bulb when stationary, only recommended for very cold winter nights!
    They also have some LED MR16s, without lenses, unfortunately.

    Which bulbs from there fit? My 12W lumi has just blown the blub and it's
    coming up to the time of year when I'll be using it lots again.

    Got to admit, that normally I'd have looked about for bulbs, but as I wanted
    a service I didn't mind paying a premium. I find that my bulbs get 'burnt
    in' by the end of a winter, so I end up replacing the bulbs annually.

    I can't link as they're using (self-framing!!) frames. Click on 'Low Voltage
    Lamps', then 'MR8 & MR11 Dichroics - LED Lamps'.

    Any of the MR11 12v bulbs will work (within reason -- you don't want total
    meltdown). The LED works fine, but has no lens so it will probably fill up
    with [censored]. Still, it's cheap, handy to have should you need a long-life
    light.

    I bought a selection: 35W (8deg) closed (completely impractical, just for
    fun!), 5W (18deg) closed, and a 10W (18deg) closed, also the white LED
    (open).

    Fast delivery, next day ISTR.

    Give them a break, They probably have to pay a lot more for bulbs than
    somehwere taht sells thousands of them.
