LoL. A try out in the garden. Well done! The only way to
*try* 'em is use them! In inclement weather.

After all that; I've observed 2 such tents recently that
coped with "nice highland downpour and a wee bit wind" & no
problems at all.

I'm sure the 100 line was discontinued a year ago, though
the 200 was still on the go recently.

Wasn't behind Ben Dearg Mor, in Fisherfield, behind An
Taellach, was it? George and I spent the 16-23 May camped
there. The first three days high winds and heavy rain then
just strong winds with one heavy hail shower. Night
temperatures were down to 2ºC but inside was about 4ºC
warmer. The tents were great, a bit of flapping, it was like
living inside a set of lungs at times, and a little bit of
condensation on the porch door, but the inner tent was
perfectly dry. We were camped on sodden peat, in fact at
times it was more water than peat, but used lightweight
bulldog pegs on some of the pegging points but even the
normal pegs didn't pull out. We weren't in the "full" force
of the wind but even if we were I don't think we would have
had much bother. Deffinately worth their money 🙂

I took a friend on his first backpacking trip since he was
in the scouts over the bank holiday just gone, we went to
the east of Bridge of Orchy.

He needed a tent so I recommended the Argos Pro-Action
(after reading reports here), Saturday and Sunday night in
Coire nan clach below Beinn Achaladair.

He was impressed with its performance for the price, and his
condensation was nothing compared to my Akto. Only trouble
was the outter zip being a bit difficult, getting stuck, he
may have pitched it a bit to tight.

Only downside to the weekend was the car, on our return it
had been broken in to, it was parked on the A82, just south
of the Auch Gleann turn off, not the best place for avoiding
it being seen, but nowhere better for our route.

I find if I run a finger up under the flap in front of the
zip as I unzip/zip it, it doesn't do it quite as often. I do
it with all the zips on all the clothes I own so it is
second nature 🙂

Bummer!! My car was parked at the Corrie Hallie parking
place at An Teallach for a week and was fine when I got
back to it.
