That's what worries me. I drove one once and it was far and away the nastiest car I've ever had the
misfortune to steer. The fact that it contained:

1. the rather clunky Van Doorne Variomatic transmission, and
2. a Doberman who howled every time the speed exceeded fifty mph

didn't help, admittedly, but even when (2) was put right, (1) was still there.

What's this "latterly?" The 340 was a DAF design and was always built in Born.

PSN 131Y (maroon 340 1.4 DL) was built in Gothenburg according to the maker's plate.

I know it (300 series) wasn't really a true Volvo.
