Bill CWent to the CHIN Picnic. Non-stop racing from 0700 to 1415 hrs.
Great day.
I screwed up though. The event was the Provinical Championship and not
having a Canadian license, I thought I wouldn't be able to ride and so
didn't go prepared to race but found out later that they would have let me
ride anyway.Flatted on the way home too. On my MTB yet - a first ever. I had tire
levers and a spare tire, but no pump and had to find air at a gas station 🙂--

I would never have thought it possible to have understated fireworks (& a
parade with no marching band). Still fun though. Fortunately the 4th is
two days and and a one hour drive away. -

I loved the CHIN picnic; it's really too bad that it was cancelled the last
year I raced. I loved the course and, years ago, it was the scene of my
first and only top 3 finish in a sprint. I usually launched a last lap
attack in the horse hitching post gallery (someone in the 3/4 pack would
ring one of them every year), only to get swamped on the long finish
straight. -

Bill CIt rained on and off during the day and was a steambath. No chance for a
ride. HOwever, it cleared up at night and you could hear fireworks here and
there. I'll ride later today. Hope your holiday has better weather wherever
you are! Of course, it has to rain SOMEWHERE in the country. -

Great day.
My father-in law is up there right now. We haven't been able to make it up for
a few years.
We used to ride the motorcycles up, try to do the Tattoo or just Canada Day in
Halifax then head out to the Bluenose Rally. Looking forward to doing it with
my daughter on her own motorcycle in a few years.

Glad to hear everybody had good days.
