  1. Another "Old Guys Who Get Fat In Winter Racing Team" potential recruit? According to CN:

"The rumours are getting stronger that Italy's enigmatically popular Marco Pantani is on the verge
of retiring from cycling. The 33 year old has reportedly put on _20 kilos_, according to an
interview with his friend and Mercatone Uno team owner Romano Cenni in Tuttosport."

Imagine that much weight on a tiny guy line Marco. Whoa.

    Dear Richard,

I'm sorry, we already have o fat, baldheaded nutcase whose mouth runs way ahead of his brain.

No kidding. That's about a 35% increase in bodyweight. My guess would be 29% bodyfat, not factoring
loss of muscle mass. He needs to have a talk with LVM as soon as possible.

How about a job for him driving the "O'Grady Cruiser" team bus/traveling microbrewery he seems to
have considerable skill in the area of creating press coverage for "exciting" driving. You're
gonna have to wait a few more years for that German application to come in, he might make for a
good fill-in in the meantime. Helpfully Bill C

    It's all muscle!

I heard he's been working out with Barry Bonds and Barry's personal trainer.

    Oi, Tom,

Of course we're all blimpy, skinheaded loonies with severe mouth-brain disconnect disorder. This
ensures continuity of leadership should any single member of the OGWGFIWRT leadership be targeted by
al-Qaeda, or worse, an untipped bartender.

I got roped into going to a Warren Miller ski flick last weekend and the "star" of the film was some
guy with a 12" blue Mohawk that he would grease straight up and ski that way.

I sort of have this picture of you as looking like that but with a lot of tatoos and hardware
attached to unlikely places on your body - you know, sort of a nice-guy twin of Adam.

The next Warren Miller film is out, eh? Well, I guess it's about the right time of year. I
should check the local listings for this. It would be rather cool if someone did films like this
    for cycling.

The Mohawk is probably sported by Scott Plank, a recurring star of Warren's films.
