Hello, I'm another newbie. My first uni, a Torker LX, was delivered a
few days ago. Unfortunately I came down with a cold on the same day.
So I've been doped up on cold medicine and only managed to play for half
an hour so far, during which I managed to ride about 15 feet on the
lumpy dirt and grass in my backyard. I've found that hopping up and
down while holding the seat with one hand is easier than pedaling. 😄
When I feel better, I'm going to take my uni somewhere with a stretch of
pavement and go for broke. I've been riding mountain bikes for 7-8
years and a fixed gear bike for several years now, so I tend to believe
I'll catch on relatively quickly. I already have a helmet and various
inline skate pads. Eventually I want to ride offroad, so I guess I'll
need some shin pads and better (non-plastic) pedals.
A few personal tidbits - I currently live in Turlock, CA, and other than
cycling, I enjoy music, synthesizers, mathematics, philosophy, and
theology.
