Mighty uncomfortable trying to climb the Izoard while needing to [censored]. Were

I was thinking he'd wait until a more appropriate place like other Tour
contender have done,.rather than during an HC climb of the Izoard.

Maybe you can give us examples of this sort of thing happenning before (Hmm,
this maybe a question that even Benjo hasn't considered 🙂 although I'm sure
    he'll have the answer. )

It's a judgment call. Frankly, Landis has much better judgment than you.
    But you know that. :-)

Where do you get the idea that I think it was a bad move? I think it's
brilliant 😉 But unorthodox, as is Landis.

It reminded me of Pedro Delgado, pissing during the decisive climb to
Superbagnères in 1989 under the surprised eyes of his companions Charley
    Mottet and Robert Millar.

What is interesting is that Laurent Fignon today commented that he'd never
heard of such a thing. The surprising thing is that Fignon was on the bike
that day in the yellow jersey chasing the Delgado et al.

If you have to stop, for any reason, it makes sense to do so at the slowest
point on the course. You may only save the time it takes to brake and
reaccelerate (not much) but you save a lot of distance and that has great
    psychological value.

Besides, stopping on a steep climb you can use the rest a lot better than on a
    flat.

    He was smart.

To be settled in Paris, final laps. I'm waiting for Phil's verbiage on
this one. [censored] on the pedals has alliteration on its side. Another
meaning for dance on the pedals? And we all know about putting it in
the opponents wheelset, discussed by those with stronger stomachs than
    I have.

And by the way, it was the second time that Delgado surprised everybody in
1989. The first time was when he arrived too late at the start of the
prologue - just like Landis this year! Has Landis found a new role model?
Will he finish third as well?

Not quite the Tour of France (TIOOYK) but a pro racer stopped to
defecate on the final climb of a stage of the Tour of Austria this
year, then went on to win the stage.

In Bob Roll's first book he has a funny section about taking a dump during a

    Dumbass -

You're ignoring the fact that a team leader like Landis has 8 guys to
pace him back up if he has to take a break on the flats (where most of
    those breaks are taken).

    thanks,
