Possibly, but that's as optimistic as I'll get considering who/what we're dealing with. I think that many of BushCo's fellow travellers in Congress will be toast...

1) IF no catastrophic "terrorist" or war-related event occurs from now until Election Day, but I'll bet anyone here anything I own that,

A) Iran will be "pre-emptively" attacked in some form by the U.S., or

B) another 9/11-like disaster will be manufactured. This scenario would be less likely, because it may make BushCo appear unable to "protect the homeland".

2) IF the likes of Diebold, ES&S, and Sequoia don't have the chance to change the vote totals like they did in '02 & '04. But that doesn't seem likely, since e-voting machines have been dispersed pretty widely despite much local opposition to them. Many locales are requesting old-fashioned balloting machines and/or paper ballots, but are being ignored.

All this article says to me is that some students have a overblown opinion of themselves. Using words like "domestic spying." The Pentegon investigated the problem the recruiters had at the school. Nowhere does it say that the Pentegon spied on individuals.
Overblowing what has really happened and then stating what this could be "if" ..... gives students little warm fuzzies like they are important enough to really matter.

And the immigration bill ???? I love the way the uninformed bring Bush into this.... Go back and see where the resisitance to immigration reform is centered. Look to the labor unions which is the strong hold of the Democratic Party. Then go back and see how Bush has handled the immigration reforms in Texas....

And the thought process that says the illegals are taking all the "low paying jobs" are wrong. I am from a town that the illegals have moved to ..... I was in the construction trade for over 20 years.... I see it everyday on the streets as the immmigrants are taking over the construction trade.
Personally, I do not have a problem with it. My best friends growing up had parents that were immigrants. And I am not anti-labor being from a family that has 2 individuals who rose to the Presidents office in 2 different unions.

When I read your posts I am reminded of my youth and the guys in the schoolyards running around calling people names. Even at a younger age I realized that this type of person was not usually the brightest thing on the block. You reinforce this.
