Another commute

Yeah, Hippy's one of these people who uses the Hawthorn Velodrome.

The other day, I saw someone go around that one a motorised scooter.

Then they proceeded to go overtake our group on around the blind
corners on gardiner's ck track. Every population has at least one

than me, I guess, making it more like 20-22k to the city?

I raced one of those minibikes there a few weeks ago.. I won.
They suck. There was a guy with one outside Blackburn 'drome
tonight and it was struggling to get up the banking 'hill'.. my Nan

When you have no choice... well... you have no choice. But seriously,
I was considering moving further away just because it would force me
to ride further! Yes, I'm that kind of freak. If it makes you feel better,
the first time I did it, I was sunburnt, dehydrated and it took so long I
had time to stop for a meat pie on the way.. suffice to say, I caught the
train home! I can still remember pushing my bike up the 'hill' on
Whitehorse Rd. where those Kerb-Access(?) tram stops are on the
city side of Box Hill.

which way do you go? I'm doing City-Turramurra on the way home,
swinging down Fullers Rd and into the NP. To get from the freeway
overpass to the cycleway off the M2 about a k past the tollgate takes
about 25-30 minutes on a mountain bike with slicks, so if you're not
going that way it might be a nice low traffic option.

In (via Pacific Highway) 23km
Normal 50-55min, PB 47
Train 20 min walk + 40 minutes
Car - Yeah, right!

Home (Pacific Highway to Chatswood, then as above) 27km
Normal 1:10-1:15, PB 1:01
Train Up to 3 hours, normally around 1:20 inc. walking.

Care factor zero. :-) It doesn't really make a difference just how far
out Mitcham is; I'm still going to have to ride it (if/when I get a job
in the CBD, of course.)

3/ Continue on Fairlight St
4/ Right into Ingham Av
5/ Left into Minnesota
6/ Left into Henley Marine Drive
7/ Right into Timbrell Drive
8/ Left into Dobroyd Parade (path or road optional)
9/ Continue on City-West Link Road to the base of the Anzac Bridge
10/ Through Pyrmont/Darling Harbour (you probably know the rest)

Steps 8 and 9 can be replaced by Lilyfield Road if you don't like splitting down the middle of heavy traffic...

That's not really so far, my commute is 26 km, you'll enjoy it, and feel
smug. And look good when you show up at work, instead of having the
usual CBD worker form...

I used to run into a personal training session in the city (when I lived
closer) and wonder about the women who travel in a fancy dress or
business suit, pantyhose and sneakers. Lycra is so much better.
