That does not sound like news to me. Angry people have been falling like
flies for years from heart attacks and strokes.
My granny used to tell people to calm down or you'll have a heart attack.

Perhaps you should read the "news" again. Did your granny know about
the "inflammation protein". That's the "news".

    Missed your point.

Is identifying the probable root cause not useful clarification?

That's fine, but that is not the news that you appeared to rubbish.

I do not rubbish it but every day scientists come out with discoveries that
are certainly not new. Many just confirm what tribes people knew and used
hundreds of years ago others just take up forgotten themes. I read about a
very similar test for 'inflammation protein in a headlined front page
article in the local press when I was on holiday in San Francisco many years
ago. I actually kept the page for reference for some years as it looked as
if the company behind it might be an investment opportunity but nothing
    seemed to come of it.

Well according to the often wrong beat-ups of the popular press.

Yes, often according to the popular press only. I've heard repeated
adnauseum reports that potassium CHLORIDE was found at the Jakarta
    bomb site.

No the scientific papers that the articles were based on.

Do you think that the companies involved would have sent me the papers?

Were they not published? I would be loathe to invest in a
    pig-in-a-poke like that.

Well, I'm pretty [censored] at the mainstream for ignoring the
low-carb approach to weight loss. I've been just friggin' steamed
about it for about 4 years now. I'm so angry and hostile that I scare
myself. Yet, I'm still at my ideal weight. No weight gain.

Oh well, another esoteric and desperate theory to explain
    uncontrollable weight down the tubes.

    TC

The US averages 49% carbs. I think the Zone diet you advocate is 40% carbs.
But there are Atkin's dieters averaging 3-5% and some even less. They call
themselves "low carbers". I submit you need to define your terms. Because to
an Atkin's dieter, you'd be a high carb idiot. 🙂

Well I assume that the common name for peas as "musical fruit", when I
was a lad, would attest to this.

Yes, baked beans and cabbage have a reputation, but 50 years ago in
Oz, I knew peas as "musical fruit". My mom told me 🙂
